This chocolate company is very popular in the Netherlands, but they had zero brand awareness in the States. Additionally, they were competing directly with the biggest chocolate brands in America.

The planned U.S. expansion strategy included a partnership with Walgreens as their exclusive vendor. The challenge was to drive sell-through at initial Walgreens stores in order to expand the collaboration nationwide.

To get Johnny Doodle in front of chocolate lovers, I enlisted a handful of select influencers. They were used to create compelling content that was repurposed as user-generated ads.

Then, I developed a social funnel by putting their brand in front of ideal buyers in designated target markets.

In just four months, our social advertising campaigns were able to consistently drive customers in-store. This resulted in the brand’s expansion from a few locations to every Walgreens across the country.

In the process, their U.S. social accounts grew to over 10K followers, and we were able to reach over 2 million people in their target demographic on a relatively small budget.

Overall, it was a pleasure working with their team, and the campaign gave me valuable experience in managing a nationwide product launch.
